GOFO Netherlands has recently taken an extra voluntary step to contribute to global climate progress by supporting two certified carbon offset projects in partnership with South Pole — together preventing or removing 600 tonnes of CO₂ from the atmosphere.
MaForêt #78
– Cabanac-et-Villagrains, France (100t CO₂)
Following the 2022 Landiras fires, this initiative is restoring 30 hectares of damaged forest with a diverse mix of maritime pine, cork oak, and stone pine. Expected to sequester over 2,200 tonnes of CO₂ over 30 years, the project enhances biodiversity, stabilises local ecosystems, and supports regional employment through locally sourced forestry work.
Magnolias Forest Conservation
– Antioquia, Colombia (500t CO₂)
Located in the Antioquia region, this project protects endangered Magnolia species and key wildlife, including pumas and jaguars. Engaging local communities in sustainable agriculture and forest management, it supports livelihoods while preserving Colombia’s unique cloud forests for future generations.
Through the voluntary commitment of high-quality carbon credits, GOFO France/ Netherlands contributes beyond its own value chain to help protect ecosystems, support local communities, and advance global efforts toward long-term climate stability.
