Fast delivery: when the promise makes the difference

In e-commerce, delivery time is no longer something shoppers discover at the last step. It shows up on the product page, and it weighs more and more on the buying decision.

According to the Sendcloud 2025 study, 54.8% of French consumers may abandon a purchase when the delivery time seems too long. For merchants, delivery has become a selling point in its own right.

Strong demand, an offer still catching up

56.5% of shoppers prefer fast delivery, and 74.2% say they are willing to pay extra for it. Yet in France, around 22% of parcels are reportedly delivered within 24 hours, compared with nearly 47% on average across Europe.

This gap is an opportunity. Merchants who offer fast delivery today can stand out, especially when several stores sell similar products.

Reliability before speed

Fast delivery is only worth something if the promise is kept: 66.4% of French consumers would not order again after a failed delivery. A missed 24-hour promise costs more than a longer delivery time that is met.

The challenge is to display a realistic delivery time, one you can hold every day as well as during peak periods: Black Friday, Christmas, sales. Tracking matters too. Clear information and accessible proof of delivery reduce complaints.

24-hour delivery, the GOFO way, in the Paris region

This is the approach GOFO is rolling out in Île-de-France: 24-hour delivery across all eight departments of the Paris region, supported by two hubs in Marly-la-Ville and Bonneuil-sur-Marne that bring sorting closer to delivery areas.

  • 6% successful deliveries
  • Over 300,000 parcels processed every day
  • 30% fewer unresolved complaints thanks to proof of delivery integrated into the merchant’s app
  • A new hub in Lyon at the end of November, to gradually extend this model

In short

Fast delivery is no longer a bonus, but it must remain a promise you control. The right partner isn’t just the fastest: it’s the one that delivers on time, every day.
